Summary: GHC loops on attached module

Initial Comment:
I attach a (rather old) parsing library. GHC 5.02.3 
compiles it fine, but GHC 5.04.1 runs out of stack. (And 
yes, I have tried making the stack bigger!)

Yes, this is a known bug in GHC 5.02.1, will be fixed in 
5.02.2.  

Workaround: use 'data' instead of 'newtype' for recursive 
newtypes.
