error while executing "hello world" under Windows

Hi,

When I try to execute "hello world" sample program under Windows (millenium) I get an error message. Namely, a message window appears saying that hello.exe caused a problem and will be closed. I scan the newsgroup, but havn't discovered anything like that so far. Everybody seems to be happy after using 

ghc -static -o hello hello.hs

as compilation command. What's wrong am I doing?
