 Summary for 8.8.1:

 - If d13b7d6065 is merged, 8a6aa87766 (revert commit) should be merged
 too.
 - d90946cea1 and 74cd4ec5d2 should be merged.

 Updating the status to put this into the merge queue but we should revert
 this to "new" afterwards.
