 I'm not entirely sure as I don't have enough experience.

 I do think having a way to expand all type synonyms means to at least see
 what's going on, but I don't think it is the best solution (as per osa1
 concern that errors will get verbose). Maybe worth a try and see how it
 behaves in servant - something that many haskell devs will face.
