Comment:

 This is expected behaviour: Because pattern synonyms can do arbitrary
 computations, the compiler does not even attempt to detect when they are
 complete.

 You can specify
 {{{
 {-# COMPLETE V #-}
 }}}
 to declare that the `V` pattern is complete.
