 Can anyone reproduce this?  Does it happen in HEAD?  Can anyone boil it
 down a bit?  Failing that, what are the exact repro instructions.

 It's odd that it works with 8.4.3 but not 8.4.4.  Are you sure you've
 started in a clean tree?
