 If I change `fuc` to

 {{{#!hs
 fuc n = product (force [1..n])
 }}}

 then I can't reproduce the problem. This suggests that the (presumably
 rather large) stack allocation in Yuras's version may be relevant in some
 fashion, I imagine.
