 Looking at ghc/rts/win32/veh_excn.c we can see that on segfaults, e.g.
 null pointer access, GHC calls:

 {{{
 fprintf(stdout, "Access violation in generated code"
 }}}

 Given these are segfaults, it seems that stderr would be a more
 appropriate stream to use.
