Comment:

 I can't reproduce this on GHC 8.0.2 or 8.2.1.

 (BTW, in the future, you might want to verify that these Core Lint errors
 happen in 8.0.2 before posting to Trac, since 8.0.2 fixed a good number of
 these kinds of issues.)
