 So looking at the script, two comments:

 There's no guarantee that there's a GCC on the path. On Windows you may
 not have one. So you have two choices here. You can either hardcode
 inplace/mingw/bin/gcc for Windows, or you can ask ghc for the C compiler
 it's using. (e.g. calling ghc --info).

 If you do the second one, you have the issue that some configurations use
 clang, so you have to guard against that.
