 We're running into this bug in preparing the win32 distro of the Haskell
 Platform as well, so I'm quite worried about this. For example, ghc-pkg
 exe seems to break in the same way.

 In fact I'm not even so sure about doing a win32 release at all for this
 version of ghc. Advice on if there's a workaround or we should anticipate
 an emergency patch (or just omit the win32 build of the platform for this
 reason) would be much appreciated.
