 I haven't been able to reproduce the segfault yet, but there is a startup
 issue with the bindist.. A call that's been there since 8.0.2 is failing.
 But it's gracefully failing for me..

 I'll start a build but in the meantime can you perhaps provide a crash
 dump so I can verify the two issues are related?
