 Just to be clear, my issue is not with gold per se. My issue is that we
 make assumptions about the naming of the linker. If my gold is called ld,
 or x-y-z-ld.gold or my-lovely-linker, I'm running into issues. This
 becomes evident probably only when using custom toolchains.
