 The patch the Edward cites is not the first that shows this failure. I've
 seen this is a few other cases and have been meaning to track it down.
 Last time I looked at this I determined that
 2756af87aebee769ffca959adc4b9dc607a49fdb was the first failing commit,
 although ran out of time before I could replicate it.
