Comment:

 The documentation for `Control.Concurrent.Chan` in the GHC git tree has
 been updated to include a warning that `Chan` inherits all the caveats of
 `MVar`s and suggests the use of `TChan` from the `stm` library instead.

 Closing this as "wontfix" but the "fix" is to use `TChan` instead of
 `Chan`.
