 With the change strict `Foldable` instances could be written in a simple
 and performant manner:
 {{{#!hs
 maximum = foldl1' max
 minimum = foldl1' min
 sum = foldl1' (+)
 product = foldl1' (*)
 }}}

 Also `foldl1'` from `Data.List` gets generalized.
