 This example isn't using `DefaultSignatures` at all. That is, it's using a
 default method (which is Haskell 98), but not a //generic// default method
 (which requires a language extension). Moreover, the (non-generic) default
 method I gave is //exactly// the same as the manual implementation, yet
 one typechecks and the other doesn't.
