 @thomie Cool!  I did indeed run into the current work directory / absolute
 paths handling.  Glad that's fixed!

 I've thought about it a little more, and I think it probably doesn't make
 sense at this time to work on the hpc program outside of the GHC repo.  So
 I guess the main thing is:

 Do my proposed resolutions seem like the right approach to resolving these
 issues?
