Comment:

 This was closed (a bit unintentionally) with
 72e362076e7ce823678797a162d0645e088cd594. Regardless, I think the patch is
 in pretty good shape. Unfortunately it is attributed to me, whereas it is
 largely jlengyel's work. Thanks jlengyel and sorry about the lack of
 credit!
