 Strange. When I run the commands from the description with ghc-7.8.3, cpu
 goes indeed to 100% and the process never finishes. When I do the same
 with HEAD, everything works fine. I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64.

 trommler: do you maybe have a better test for this bug?
