 I'll also note that it seems turning off the sinking pass seems to make no
 difference (that is, `-fno-cmm-sink` in
 `compiler/nativeGen/X86/CodeGen.hs`) to cause this bug to still trigger,
 although I haven't verified it faults in exactly the same spot.
