 When I build a completely statically-linked GHC, using the following
 build.mk:

 SRC_HC_OPTS     = -O -H64m
 GhcStage1HcOpts = -O -fasm
 GhcStage2HcOpts = -O2 -fasm
 GhcHcOpts       = -Rghc-timing
 GhcLibHcOpts    = -O2
 GhcLibWays      = v
 HADDOCK_DOCS    = NO
 DYNAMIC_BY_DEFAULT   = NO
 DYNAMIC_GHC_PROGRAMS = NO
 }}}
 , the above described segfaults no longer appear.
