 Here is a drop-in replacement for ld and ar which I have found to run a
 bit faster:
 http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/upp/uldar/1.0.15/uldar-1.0.15.zip

 The source can be found in the U++ project under the 'coff' directory.
