Comment:

 I am not following the details of this patch (I'm afraid I'm clueless
 about dynamic linking), but I'll milestone this for 7.8.1 and change it to
 `patch`, so that Austin is sure to see it.

 Austin: I'm not expressing an opinion about whether this is "ready", just
 wanting to be sure you review it.
