Comment (by blitzcode):

 Note that this does not only affect the GHCi repl, but the bytecode
 interpreter in general. So Template Haskell compilation and things like
 'ghc -e' in Makefiles seem to be broken since HP 2012.2.0.0 with OS X 10.6
 + 64bit, at least as far as I can tell on my two machines.
