git.haskell.org is broken

Yes, we are currently in the process of decommissioning git.haskell.org.
The official upstream repository is now
https://gitlab.haskell.org/ghc/ghc.

This will all become clearer after Saturday when we finish the migration
and can start updating the documentation to reflect the new state of the
world.
