Something we didn't discuss yesterday:

*         32-bit Linux build is broken (see nightly-build email that Geoff generates here at MSR)

*         are other buildbots working?

*         we are getting no snapshot builds

*         there are many test failures (with plain "make" in testsuite/) even on 64-bit Linux.
Can you investigate?
