segfault building on os x

My commit for

c7d80c6524390551b64e9c1d651e1a03ed3c7617

affected T149. When I ran it individually, though, I saw nondeterminism in
the numbers, so I didn't update the test. If many people are seeing it on
different platforms, I suppose we should update it.

I won't have time enough for due diligence on this decision until May --
sorry. High-level hint: that commit removes dead closures that were being
allocated at runtime.
