  * Remove initial-space discard from the numeric parsers.
  It was incorrect inside parseInt etc, because individual parts of a
  Float are parsed as ints, but there should be no spaces internal to a
  Float.  So the discards need to be moved further out - to the instance
  decls for Int and Float etc.
