Yes, darcs does not normally transmit permissions from repository to
repository.  However I notice that
    darcs get --set-script-executable
exists since at least 1.0.5.  But in any case, the provision of a simple
post-checkout shell script to initialise permissions, graft
sub-repositories etc, is easy and more fool-proof.
