 I quite understood that a Makefile.hs is generated from Makefile.in and
 that Cabal generates a GNUMakefile. I suggest that "Setup configure"
 should find out a proper value for a (new or further) LDFLAGS variable
 that is then used in conjunction with LD (instead of -x).
