New description:

 Git sha is ce23451c2c771bfbbac27ce63c5fdccc7ed02b3b (version 8.7, I
 believe - the latest as at day before yesterday) ran tests on MacBook Pro
 (15-inch, 2017 - MacBookPro14,3) with 3.1Ghz Intel Core i7 16GB RAM, 4
 Cores. OS X 10.13.6.

 First run through of tests ever for me. Did `cd ghc/testsuite/tests/ghci
 && make THREADS=8` and the following error ensued:
