 I've hit the same problem with GHC 8.0.2.  Building unicode-
 transforms-0.3.1 works with GHC 7.10.3 and LLVM 3.5.2, but has the "`opt'
 failed in phase `LLVM Optimiser'" error with GHC 8.0.2 and LLVM 3.7.1.
 This is on an emulated armv7 with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB swap running Debian
 jessie.
