 David will summarise by saying

 * Compile this module X with these flags

 * Compiler allocations (a) pre offending patch (b) post offending patch
 (c) HEAD

 * Tidy Core sizes for (a)-(c); i.e. is it slower because we are compiling
 more code or because we are taking long to compile it?
