 To be specific, the expected behavior of the test is for the `undefined`
 exception to be reported and then for the program to run for a second and
 then exit.

 This is the behavior without optimizations, and also the behavior under
 GHC 7.10 and earlier regardless of optimization level. Basically, the same
 situation as with `catch` in #11555.
