 And I want to make this absolutely clear. In case there is any doubt at
 all. While I am not a user of stack, I have nothing against stack. It
 solves a problem many people have.

 However if you depend on an upstream project, it is your responsibility to
 keep track of it's development. There are plenty of ways to do so. Just
 like there were plenty of times before this where stack people could have
 worked together with Cabal people to form a migration plan. After the
 announcement would have been one such occasion.

 However as far as I can see, no one did so. If we don't get any feedback,
 we will assume there is no objection.

 The problem is this us vs you mentality that has somehow evolved. My
 changes to GHC at no time involve thinking about how to break stack.
 Despite all the assertion that our free time, which many of us willingly
 donate to help GHC is spent actively trying to sabotage another project.
