Comment:

 Using ghc 7.10.2 (patched with two recent fixes from git HEAD) on
 powerpc/linux, I just set up a cabal sandbox and after installing required
 C libraries was able to do `cabal install yi` and then actually run it.

 I didn't do any serious editing with it, but it ran without a problem.

 I'm going to test this again with either the 7.10.3 release (if it
 happens) or the 8.0 release and then close it if all is still good.
