 Better. Syntax: why not just do this for a nested DEPRECATED pragma, thus
 {{{
 class C a where
   foo :: a

   bar :: a -> a
   bar x = x
   {-# DEPRECATED bar "burble wurble" #-}

   doo :: a
 }}}
