 Good!  Can you give a small example of your last para?  I bet it's
 something like
 {{{
 case (runRW (\s -> I# x)) of (# _ , I# y) -> blah
 }}}
 I bet that you can make something similar happen with `catch#`.  A new
 ticket, perhaps.
