 I think before we close this ticket we should have a regression test. The
 first attempt at #8935 passed the testsuite with no errors.

 I don't know enough about the earlier phases of GHC to come up with such a
 test case but I could help explaining what is going on in the backend and
 especially with dynamic linking and loading.
